The team arrived in the woody Mhlambanyatsi to a beautiful sunny winter morning with much expectation and oozing with promise.

The group stages started at nine o’clock with a tough match against a very talented Mhlambanyatsi Primary School. A lapse in concentration in the final minute of play resulted in the Enjabulweni team conceding a goal to lose the match one nil.

The boys kept their heads up to beat Thembelisha by 5 goals to nil. Beautiful long range goals from Rio Henwood and some all-round scintillating football were the hallmarks of the performance.

The last of the group games was against Khanyisile and the team won 3-0 confirming a berth in the quarter finals.

In the quarter finals, Enjabulweni played Sifundzani Primary School and beat them 2-1 thanks to wonderful goals by Kyle Carmichael and Jamal Rennie.

This meant that the team proceeded to the semi-finals to play Mhlambanyatsi Primary School – the team that the boys had lost to in the first group game. Oh boy did the boys step up! Mhlambanyatsi  led for much of the game and Enjabulweni had to dig really deep to score the equalising goal in the dying minutes of the game to take the match into a penalty shoot out.

The teams were tied after five penalties apiece and there had to be a sudden death shootout. Well done to keeper Mpumelelo Zulu who kept his cool and saved the last penalty to take the team into the finals.

2019 Under 11 Soccer Champions

The boys played against a spirited Living Waters Primary School in the all-Manzini final.

With an amazing display of neat passing football, the team overcame Living Waters by a single goal after missing so many chances.

Well done to the Under 11 Champions of 2019.

The school would like to thank Coach Washington and Coach Zee for the dedication to the improvement of soccer in the school.

To the parents who came out to support from the first game until they all lost their voices after the final, we are truly grateful and this win is for you!
